To begin with, a black hole is a place where the force of gravity is so powerful that you would need to be traveling at a speed faster than the speed of light to escape its pull. Since nothing in the universe is faster than the speed of light, anuthing that gets sucked in is defeated by the gravity.

Closer to the center, gravity is even stronger. If you were caught by the pull of a black hole, you would be pushed into a fall toward its center. The pulling force would increase as you moved toward the center, creating what's called a "tidal force" on your body. Due to this, the gravity on working on your head is much stronger than one acting on your toes, making your head accelarate faster than your toes. Then your body snaps apart, from the weakest point, than rapidly increasing it's pace until the tidal force is stronger than the chemical bonds holding your body together.Then your body would be reduced to a bunch of disconnected atoms which connect into a line and proceed in a march. After this, no one knows what happens for sure when these atoms reach the center or singularity of the black hole.

As a black hole's size increases, the differences in gravitational force inside become less dramatic. If you fall into a truly gigantic black hole, the rate of change—and resulting tidal force—might not be enough to rip your body apart until after you'd crossed the event horizon.

Therefore,the black hole is truly a powerful monster that is impossible to defeat. Getting sucked into a black hole makes
your last moments would be a little bit like being on the inside of a distorted, one-way mirror. Not a great way to end your life!

Hello, this time I am going to leave to separate parts to this comment, one part that states what I THINK will happen when you get sucked into a black hole, and one that states research from a site that says what ACTUALLY happens when you get sucked into black hole.

What I think happens when something gets sucked into a black hole is that you just get sucked to a different universe. When you enter the unieverse, it will be the same as the one we are in now, just a different place. Just like when you dig through the earth from The United States, you would reach China and be in a different part of the earth.

My research states that when you get swallowed by a black whole, every part of your body would be shredded up into little tiny pieces. In order to escape this horrible scene, you must be traveling faster than the speed of sound to get out of this black hole, but since nothing in the universe is faster than the speed of light, nothing can escape the wrath of the black whole. When you get farther into the center of the black whole, you start to move even faster, which causes your body to stretch out and burst into pieces, therefore causing broken atoms. And this all takes place within billonths of a second, so weird huh?

I never knew all this could happen so quickly inside a black hole. I guess my prediction was off completely. Well it was worth a try!

Black Holes! One of my favorites! Well, to start off, a black hole is pretty weird (actually really weird). What happens is that a bunch of mass is compressed into a small area so it has a LARGE density and create a singularity (a fancy term for something that scientists don't really get) that sucks stuff in with so much gravitational force that not even light can escape, hence the name, black hole. Now, when I first learned about black holes, it seemed pretty easy to get- it's a hole in space, fine with me. The WEIRD thing about black holes, though, is that if you really think about it, it defies logic in so many ways. For instance, try visualizing a hole in 3 dimensional space to begin with. Tricky, eh? Okay, now here's something even worse: if light, which is the ultimate speed limit, cannot escape this "hole," then what would it take to escape it? And if this black hole kept on pulling and pulling without any way to disperse the stuff it collected, couldn't that mean a black hole could consume the entire universe? (Actually, Stephan Hawkings found that black holes do release energy through radiation, but I won't go into that now). In short, black holes are WEIRD.

When it comes to being sucked into a black hole, I have to wonder- esp. @magnoliablossom, you describe the (gruesome) results of falling into a black hole in the assumption that time still passes. However, since time and space gets warped until it almost (or does) "rip," does time pass for the falling-iner? What about the observer- what would he/she see? Furthermore, may I also point out that we humans (at least on Earth) don't really feel gravity. What we perceive as our "weight" is actually the normal force that is acting on us. Normal force is the support force of a solid object, like a table or a chair or a couch or the floor. Without normal force, we'd go crashing through, well, everything. That's why, if you're falling for whatever reason, on Earth, you still have weight, but you feel "weightless" because there is less normal force. Also, if you happen to be accelerating downwards (that weird butterflies feeling on an elevator, for instance, or a roller coaster) or accelerating upwards, you will also feel your "weight" change because your motion will add or subtract from the normal force needed to support you. So, since there is no normal force near a black hole, would the falling person even feel anything before they get spaghettified (which is supposedly so short, if time acts normally, that they wouldn't feel anything before they, er, die)?

@njguy By the way, your universe idea is not completely wrong. Some theories include the idea that it is possible that two black holes could connect to each other and form a wormhole to another universe or to another space/time in our universe (no evidence, though), and some even think that a black hole could branch off into another universe (make a black hole, make your own universe! Whoopee!), like an umbilical cord to a baby universe. Although, once again, all this worm-hole theorizing is pretty out there, and basically still belongs in science fiction. (Although, goodness knows, a lot of science fiction has come out to be true...)
